That means Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson and Carter have all been shipped out of New Jersey in the past year and a half, giving Nets’ fans a young nucleus to watch as they try to climb back into Eastern Conference contention.

The casual New Jersey Nets tickets will be sold to those wanting to catch a team led by rising point guard Devin Harris. He was the main piece of a trade with the Mavericks, and has settled in as a premiere backcourt player. Anchoring the front court is 2nd year player Brook Lopez. The team, which has rapper Jay Z as one of the members of the ownership group, has made a very bad start this season. They have gone 16 games without a win, six at home and the remaining ten on the road.

Desperation for Nets to win is more likely to move a notch higher this week, since they are only two defeats away from setting a NBA record. Needless to say, their next two games are of paramount importance. On Sunday, they will make a trip down town Los Angeles to face the La Lakers at the Staples Center. Bad news for the Nets is that the Lakers are in superb form, they have recorded five wins in a row.

The New Jersey Nets made a bold move this past off season. After having shipped out Jason Kidd to Dallas two seasons ago and Richard Jefferson to Milwaukee one season ago, the Nets decided to move off the last component of the team’s “big 3″ by trading Vince Carter to the Raptors.

Carter is one of the bigger names in pro basketball. A consistent All-Star and always one of the league’s top 15 scorers, Carter’s loss will have interesting implications on this basketball team.

The New Jersey Nets without Carter will be a pretty bare bones roster with no big names in the mix, save for Devin Harris. Harris, however, is a star in his own right and seems to improve with each season.

Additionally, young center Brook Lopez will look to build on an incredibly impressive rookie campaign, in which he played some extremely efficient basketball on both ends of the court.
