The New Jersey Nets are a team that has proven in the past to be able to do it all. They have been able to dominate the NBA and recruit great players to play for them. One classic example of this skill to get powerhouse team members to play for them is Jason Kidd. During his time with the Nets Kidd set the NBA on fire and lit up the court with his uncanny three point shooting. This helped the Nets establish themselves as being a dominant force on the court.
Jason Kidd never dreamed that his passion for basketball would ever lead to a career with the NBA. While growing up, Kidd kept hearing that he was too short and that he was not exactly what the NBA was looking for in the way of basketball players. This left him with an even stronger desire to play the game and prove everybody wrong. While in High School, he received a scholarship to play ball in college. Kidd Attended the University of California, Berkley instead of one of the dozen other schools that he was made an offer from. While in college he showed that he could play with the big boys, helping the school to win more games in one season, than they had done in the several seasons prior. This fact helped to cement a legacy that still to this day stands.
After college, it was time for Kidd to prove all the people in his life wrong when he entered the NBA draft. Being picked by the Nets in the first round meant that he had made an impression on somebody. This was Kidd’s chance to be in the spotlight and to earn his due respect. In his first season with the Nets, Kidd set all kinds of team records. This allowed Kidd to show all the NBA that it was his time to shine in the spotlight.
What set Kidd apart from any other player in the league was his ability to shoot three pointers like a natural. There have been few players except for Kidd and, of course Reggie Miller, that have been able to shoot three pointers with such precision. It is because of this talent that Kidd is considered to be one of the better Nets players that have ever played the game; there are a lot of things that can be said about the talent that Kidd has. This is why he is a valued member of any team that he plays for. There will never be a player that is as good as Jason Kidd is at what he does. He has proven all his critics wrong as to what kind of talent that he has.
Jason Kidd has been the driving force behind the resurgence of popularity and success that the nets have enjoyed over the last several years. He is truly a legend in his own time.
